My First Post

It's Saturday, December 24th.  Christmas Eve.  We've spent the morning tidying up because the family is coming over later.  It is the first time we are hosting the holiday dinner.  Our menu consists of Mom's homemade lasagna and a fresh colorful salad.  Little One helped make chocolate-pretzel bites for dessert.  (Notice the chocolate on her shirt and around her mouth...)

Speaking of Little One, we started a new tradition this year.  We brought her to a live nativity.  She was so excited to take a picture with Baby Jesus and feed the animals with Daddy.  You couldn't fill the cup fast enough before the donkey and sheep gobbled it down!  This is a wonderful experience sponsored by one of the local churches.  The best part?  It's all free.

Afterwards, we picked up some Starbucks hot chocolate, cranked up the Christmas music, and drove around a neighborhood that prides itself on its luminaries.  Wow!  There was definitely some competition between neighbors on some of the streets.  Check these out:

I wish The Boys were with us last night.  It would have made the evening perfect.  It's hard sharing them during the holidays.  But, they are still with us in spirit and memories from last year.  Look how much they've grown since 2010.

From our house to yours - Merry Christmas!
"Christmas Eve was a night of song that wrapped itself about you like a shawl. But it warmed more than your body. It warmed your heart… filled it, too, with a melody that would last forever."
